Cellino Projects

I've been at Cellino Biotech since 2022, first as an Automation & Mechanical Engineering Intern and now as a full-time Mechanical Engineer, working on their automated cell-processing systems.

As an intern, I owned the full lifecycle of an automated fluidics system — spec'ing the hardware, designing it in CAD, integrating it with the automation software, and taking it all the way through testing and deployment. That system replaced what had been a manual reagent-loading process, which helped the lab scale up its throughput.

Since moving into the full-time role, I've been designing the mechanical architecture for a next-generation automated cell-processing prototype made up of around ten integrated subsystems. I've also branched further into the software side — writing and reviewing PRs, joining design reviews, and building updates that allow the new prototype system to process consumables in parallel.

Most of the actual engineering here is proprietary, so I can't share specifics or photos — but at a high level, it's been four years of CAD, fabrication, vendor management, software integration, and code review, all in service of making cell manufacturing more automated.
